Joining Beta

Prospective Tarheel Homeschool Beta Club Students and Parents:

What is the purpose of the Tarheel Homeschool Beta Club?

The purpose of the Tarheel Homeschool Beta Club is to promote the ideals of Honesty, Justice, Service, Cooperation, Responsibility, Industriousness, Humility, and Charity (as outlined in the National Beta Club Creed). The members of the club will work together for the greater good, develop individual and cooperative skills, and prepare for college, careers, and life.

What are the requirements for membership?

Each member must:

  • Participate in community service projects to complete a minimum of 10 hours of service by the end of May. A minimum of 5 service hours through Tarheel Homeschool Beta is required. (students are strongly encouraged to participate in as many service projects as possible, as this is a major key to leadership and character development)

  • Maintain A/B scores

  • Demonstrate continued commendable character both as a representative of the club and as an independent individual

  • Adhere to the Tarheel Homeschool Beta Club Constitution, By-Laws, and rules.

Are there dues/payments?

What is the schedule for Tarheel Beta?

  • Meetings: Meetings take place every 2nd and 4th Monday running from Sept through May

  • Community Service: Service projects will occur in addition to the club meetings. We will do our best to schedule these projects on various days throughout the year to accommodate everyone's varied schedules.

  • Events: There are summits and conventions put on by the National Beta Club (those are listed under "events" tab). In addition, our club may put on special events throughout the year. Again, these are in addition to scheduled meetings.
